Lakes of Puy de Dôme and Auvergne

Do you love lakes? You êtes in the right place! The lakes of Puy de Dôme and d'Auvergne around the campsitewould be à on their own worth the detour.

Some are suitable à swimming with their beaches labelled Pavillon Bleu, a real asset in période of high temperatures, such as :

•  The water sports base of Lac d'Aydat (à 4 km) with monitored swimming in July and Août,
• The Lake Chambon (à 15 km), with a nautical base and supervised swimming in summer and beautiful view of the Sancy massif!
• The Gour de Tazenat (à 60 km) with swimming allowed but not supervised!

Want a short walk or a picnic by a lake with the family? Discover the sublime Lake Servières (à 10min from the campsite), an ancient volcanic maar located at 1200 m altitude.

A little farther and just as beautiful with its view over the Monts Dore, the Lake Guéry (à 15min from the campsite) is the highest d'Auvergne à 1250 m.

The Lake Chauvet (à 36 km), ancient maar, is to discover during a beautiful hike on the heights of the Cézallier.

Not to mention its "brother" the indispensable Lac Pavin , also a volcanic maar, is the youngest volcano in Auvergne with an almost perfect circular shape. It is also the deepest in Auvergne (over 90 m) which gives it intense blue waters!
