Clef Verte label in 2024 for Camping Les Volcans in Aydat

The Green Key label distinguishes tourist accommodations and restaurants committed to a voluntary, high-performing and dynamic environmental approach. The label is awarded annually by an independent jury composed of experts and tourism and environment professionals. We have therefore been audited on a set of 109 criteria and received the visit of 'an auditor during the 2023 season.

Our commitment écologique, and more broadly our démarche in favor ofa more sustainable and écoresponsable tourism, translates into actions concrètes, from the most symbolique à the most impactful. They are sometimes portées solely by the campsite and often partagées with campers.

  • No chemical or phytosanitary product for l'entretien of green spaces and choice of d'entretien éco-labellisés for cleaning.
  • Dévelopment of local products for the snack: neighbor's St-Nectaire, Auvergne charcuterie, baker's à burger, local potatoes…
  • Make à available in our rentals eco-labelled household products and remove individual sachet products, generators of a lot of unnecessary waste.
  • Être an LPO refuge by implementing the association's recommendations to preserve biodiversity. This is especially why the campsite hedges are not trimmed before summer (nesting period) but in autumn.
  • Loan of a nature observation bag and display of the birds present around the campsite to raise awareness of the surrounding fauna and flora.
  • Awakening to biodiversity with the organization of campground apiary visits (in beekeeper attire!) thanks to the intervention of a local association, Tralalarts Aydat.
  • Work and practice changes to limit water and energy consumption, notably through the complete renovation of the sanitary facilities.
  • Promote trust relationships within the campsite : lending of equipment without deposit (electrical connector, rackets, balls, pétanque balls…), setting up a book box, a games box and a sharing box with free access.
  • Favoring the repair and reuse of equipment, or donating to recyclers.
  • Selective sorting, composting with bio-bin loan, recovery of empty gas cartridges…

The list should continue to grow over the seasons. And especially thanks to the good ideas of the campers who shared their proposals or little tips! A big thank you to them for their help :-)
