General information and access to the campsite in Aydat

Where is the Les Volcans campsite located?

Les Volcans campsite is located in Aydat, Auvergne, in the heart of the Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, close to the Puy de Dôme. An ideal setting to recharge in the midst of nature, 25 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand and the highway. Find the map and directions to join us.


Is the campsite accessible by train or public transport?

The nearest train station is Clermont-Ferrand (25 km). A bus stop is located near Lac d'Aydat, about 3.5 km from the campsite.


Can you come to the campsite without a car?

It's possible, but a car is still highly recommended to fully enjoy the region. However, we offer a carpooling table at the entrance of the campsite to facilitate mutual assistance.


Are there taxis or VTC nearby?

Yes, taxi and private car services are available locally.


What are the opening dates of the campsite?

We welcome you from April to September, throughout the entire beautiful season. Campsites are accessible from the end of April only.


Bookings, rates and cancellation conditions

Is it possible to book online?

Yes, of course 😊 You can book directly online via our secure booking site.


Is a deposit required when booking?

Yes, a 30% deposit is required to confirm your stay.


When should the balance of the stay be paid?

The balance is to be paid 30 days before your arrival.


What happens in case of cancellation?

Our stays are not refundable, but we offer cancellation insurance during booking to allow you to book with complete peace of mind.


What are the arrival hours at the campsite?

We welcome you with pleasure between 2 pm and 6 pm, both for pitches and rentals.


What time should we check out of the site or rental?

Departure is before noon for plots, and before 10am for rentals, to give us time to prepare for the next guests.


Accommodation and facilities at Camping Les Volcans (Auvergne)

What types of accommodations do you offer?

We offer plots for tents, caravans and motorhomes, plots with private sanitary facilities, as well as mobile homes and unusual accommodations (Dome, Pod, Lodge...).


Can you park your car on the campsite?

Yes, one car is included per pitch. And if you prefer not to have your vehicle next to you, an external parking lot is also at your disposal.


Is electricity included on the pitches?

Electricity is available as an option on most pitches, with a power of 6 amps.


Is the campsite accessible to large motorhomes?

Yes, access is easy up to 8 meters. For longer vehicles, please contact us before arrival or booking.


Do you offer linen or household linen rental?

Yes, you can rent sheets and household linen as an option if you wish to travel lighter.


Can you bring your pet?

Yes, your four-legged companions are welcome, including in most rentals, with a small supplement. We even provide a vacuum cleaner to make cleaning easier when you leave. You can also consult our dedicated article to prepare your stay with your dog.


Hiking, lakes and activities around the campsite (Volcans d'Auvergne)

Is there a pool at the campsite?

Yes 😊 We have an outdoor heated pool, open from mid-June to the end of September for the enjoyment of children and adults. Sun loungers and armchairs are available for you on the pool deck.


Are swim shorts allowed in the pool?

No, for hygiene reasons, only swimming pool swimsuits are allowed (swim shorts are not accepted).


Can we have barbecues at the campsite?

Yes, collective barbecues are at your disposal. However, ground fires are prohibited for safety reasons.


Is there a charging station for electric vehicles?

Yes, a charging point is available near the reception. It is a reinforced socket offering slow charging.


Is the campsite quiet in the evening?

Yes, we really care about the peaceful atmosphere of the campsite 😊 Silence is requested from 10 PM for everyone's comfort, and complete silence after 11 PM.


Are there shops near the campsite?

Yes 😊 A grocery store is 3 km away. An Intermarché is 15 minutes away and an Auchan is 20 minutes away. We also have a small emergency grocery store at the reception.


Is there fresh bread in the morning?

Yes! A bread depot is available every day from June to September. In April and May, the baker comes three times a week.


Is there a pharmacy or doctor nearby?

Yes, a pharmacy and a medical center are located about 3 km away in Aydat.


Children and families

Is the campsite suitable for young children?

Yes, the campsite is perfectly suited for families with children, in a calm and secure setting. Playground, indoor playroom... We have designed the campsite for families with young children!


Do you offer baby equipment?

Yes, we can lend a baby bed and a high chair, upon reservation and availability.


Are there baby changing facilities on site?

Yes, in the sanitary facilities with a baby bathtub, as well as in the toilets of the swimming pool and snack bar.


Are there any activities for children?

Yes, a few activities are occasionally offered in July and August: manual activities, visits to the campsite beehives...


Activities and environment

Is there a lake or swimming area nearby?

Yes, a lake with supervised swimming is located about 3 km from the campsite - perfect for a family outing.


Is Camping Les Volcans suitable for a relaxing stay?

Yes, it's one of its great strengths 😊 A natural, peaceful, and relaxing setting to unwind fully.


Can you go hiking directly from the campsite?

Yes, several hiking trails start directly from the campsite. They allow you to visit the Auvergne volcanoes directly. Don't hesitate to check our blog to discover our ideas for walks around the campsite.


Is the campsite committed to an ecological approach?

Yes 😊 Selective sorting, composting, waste reduction, limited nighttime lighting, and eco-friendly cleaning products are part of our commitments.


Groups and events

Do you accept groups or private events?

No, we do not accept groups or events in order to preserve the calm atmosphere of the campsite.
