Are you looking for a campsite that accepts dogs in Puy-de-Dôme and ideas for visits that are accessible with your companion? Good news, your companions are welcome at Les Volcans campsite, but also in a large number of tourist sites in the surrounding area. Here are some tips and useful information to help you organize your vacation with your dog.

Dog boarding near the campsite
Some tourist sites do not accept dogs, for example, Vulcania, the Gergovie Battle Museum, the Auvergne Animal Park or the Michelin Adventure.
If you want to enjoy these visits, it is possible to have your dog looked after for the day or a few hours. Several establishments exist around the campsite, including:
- At Mrs LORADOUX's (ACACED certified), in Olloix: 06 74 28 01 08 (excellent feedback from our customers!)
- Pension La Vallée des Arvernes, in Saint-Saturnin (20 min from the campsite). Phone: +33 6 80280766 or 04 73 39 46 68
- Chenil de la Bulle, in Volvic (35 min from the campsite and 20min from Vulcania) Phone: +33 6 80280766
Hiking trails to do with your dog
Most hiking trails are accessible with a dog. However, there are a few exceptions that are better known to avoid disappointment (or even a fine) along the way. Here are the most notable dog-free hiking trails:
- Puy de Combegrasse, located behind the campsite. Prohibited from May to October due to sheep in the area.
- Paths of the Chaudefour Valley nature reserve
- The paths of the Chastreix-Sancy nature reserve
You should therefore be particularly careful with your itinerary if you want to climb to the top of the Puy de Sancy (only by cable car or via GR 4 or GR 30) but for the rest you have almost free rein everywhere!
