Discovering the volcanoes of Auvergne

THE Auvergne Volcanoes Park was shaped by volcanic eruptions 95,000 years ago. The campsite is at the heart of this site, the first volcanoes are accessible on foot from the campsite. Do not hesitate to stroll in the heart of the volcanoes!

To the north, the Chaîne des Puys with the emblematic Puy de Dôme which from its height of 1464 meters dominates the chain including the Puy de Pariou with its superb crater, but also its neighbors such as Puy Chopine, Puy des Gouttes, Puys de Jume and Shell. Two unmissable craters, the Puys de la Vache and de Lassolas , dormant for 8000 years ( accessible on foot from the campsite for a day ). And right at the foot of the campsite, the beautiful Puy de Combegrasse which offers a superb view of a large part of the Chaîne des Puys and the Monts Dore! Since 2024 the Puy de la Rodde has been set up for a hike in the woods departing from the campsite with beautiful panoramas as a bonus.

Discover the Giant of the Domes with the Panoramique des Dômes . Reach the summit of the Puy de Dôme by cogwheel train to discover the mythical site, the flagship symbol of Auvergne . An expedition accessible to all!

In the center, the Monts Dore with the highest peak: Le Puy de Sancy. Splendid natural reserves such as the Reserve of Chaudefour and the Reserve of Chastreix , are also worth the detour!

To the south, the superb Cézallier plateau with the Godivelle Reserve , then the Monts du Cantal, with the unmissable and majestic Puy Mary and its green valleys!
Together let's respect nature! It is too common to pick up rubbish on the ground or to come across people who do not respect the signs. It is a very sensitive and easily erodible environment.  For example, access to Puy de Côme has been prohibited since January 2002 by municipal decree due to excessive erosion of the path! Some trails are also prohibited for dogs (Chaudefour reserve, Puy de Combegrasse, etc.), we can advise you on hikes suitable for your 4-legged companions .

Follow the trails, keep your trash with you... Simple gestures make it possible to preserve nature and its landscapes!

You can consult the hiker's charter .
