Located in the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes, in the Puy-de-Dôme, the Les Volcans campsite is an ideal starting point to discover a preserved nature and unique volcanic landscapes. Here, you can enjoy the puys, lakes and large spaces without multiplying kilometers: hiking, walks, swimming and outdoor activities are accessible on foot from the campsite or within 30 minutes' drive. Whether you're coming with family, as a couple or for a more sporting stay, the campsite offers a calm and natural setting to experience Auvergne at your own pace.

Sleeping at the foot of the volcanoes
The Auvergne Volcanoes Park was shaped by volcanic eruptions 95,000 years ago. The campsite is at the heart of this site, the first volcanoes are accessible on foot from the campsite. So don't hesitate to take a stroll through the heart of the volcanoes!
To the north, the Chaîne des Puys with the iconic Puy de Dôme which, from its 1,464 meters, dominates the chain, including the Puy de Pariou with its superb crater, but also its neighbors like Puy Chopine, Puy des Gouttes, Puys de Jume and Coquille.
A preserved nature, UNESCO listed
Two must-see craters, the Puys de la Vache and de Lassolas , dormant for 8,000 years (accessible on foot from the campsite in one day). And right at the foot of the campsite, the beautiful Puy de Combegrasse which offers a superb view of a large part of the Chaîne des Puys and the Monts Dore! Since 2025, the Puy de la Rodde has been developed for a hike in the woods starting from the campsite with beautiful panoramas to boot.
Discover the Giant of the Dômes with the
Panoramique des Dômes. Reach the summit of the Puy de Dôme by rack railway to discover the mythical site, a beacon symbol of Auvergne. An expedition accessible to all!
In the center, the Monts Dore with the highest peak: Puy de Sancy. Splendid natural reserves such as Chaudefour Reserve and Chastreix Reserve are also worth a visit, less than 25 minutes from the campsite!

Between volcanic peaks, lakes, and forests
Our small campsite in Puy-de-Dôme is surrounded by volcanoes, but also many lakes : Lake Aydat is accessible on foot at 3.5km (swimming and sailing), Lake Servières, Lake Guéry, or Lake Chambon are all less than 15 minutes by car.
During your walks around the campsite, you will also enjoy beautiful forests (particularly appreciated on hot days!), wetlands with amazing biodiversity, refreshing waterfalls ... or even very beautiful medieval villages and châteaux !
Clermont-Ferrand and major nearby sites
You can also take advantage of your stay to visit the Auvergne capital. Clermont-Ferrand is 20 minutes' drive from the campsite. Many other sites are also within 25 minutes' drive for cultural and educational visits : Vulcania, the Lemptégy Volcano, the Grotte de la Pierre de Volvic...

Hiking from the campsite
The hiking possibilities around the campsite are almost endless, with lakes, volcanoes, waterfalls, and peaks... There's something for every taste and level, from 3 years old! Several hikes start right from the campsite, some of which offer some of the most beautiful views in the region (Puy de Combegrasse has become a must-see!)

Mountain biking, trail running, cycling
Sports enthusiasts delight in the volcanoes! Many marked mountain biking trails start from the campsite with loops for all levels (4km, 10km, 27km...). The roads of Puy de Dôme are also renowned for cyclists with beautiful passes (Col de la Croix Morand, Col de Guéry, Col de la Croix Saint-Robert...) and well-maintained roads. Swimming and water activities
For those who enjoy swimming and water activities, the campsite is located 3.5km from Lake Aydat, accessible on foot in 40 minutes or by car in 5 minutes. Lake Aydat has a large beach with supervised swimming in the summer, a sailing school with the possibility of renting a pedal boat, paddleboard, canoe...
Other water activities are possible around the campsite, such as canyoning or kayaking.

The whole family will find adapted activities to their expectations or different ages: tree climbing, via ferrata, giant zip lines, rock climbing, summer toboggan, paragliding... The possibilities offered around the campsite are numerous and adapted to all weather conditions with activities to do when it rains. Those who enjoy thrilling activities will be satisfied, as well as those who enjoy cultural visits and discoveries.

Our small nature campsite in Auvergne is a haven of greenery that blends perfectly into its surroundings. The campsites are spacious, shaded or not, and offer a view of the surrounding volcanoes. We also offer mobile home rentals and unusual accommodations for a comfortable or more original vacation.

During your stay at the campsite, you will find useful services : free Wi-Fi, bread delivery, heated pool (from June to September), bar, restaurant (July-August)... A laundry room (washing machine and dryer) is also at your disposal in the sanitary block, or collective barbecues and phone charging locker.

We ourselves campers with our children, we wanted to make the Les Volcans campsite a place adapted to all families, and especially with young children. They will find a playground, an indoor playroom, a foosball table, ping-pong tables, board games... so that the whole family can make the most of their Auvergne holidays!
The secure setting of our small family campsite makes it an ideal place for their independence on holiday.

Peace, nature and disconnection are appreciated within our campsite. We wanted to make it an ideal place for a rejuvenating stay between hikes, relaxation, pool and visits! Not to mention the discovery of Auvergne gastronomy and its many cheeses.

Our campsite in the Puy-de-Dôme is ideally located along the GR 4 and GR 441 trails, and a short distance from the GR 30, as well as the GTMC (Great Central Massif Crossing by MTB). Our pitches, accommodations, and services are designed to meet the needs of your itinerant vacations: specific rates, useful services (laundry, phone charging, dining, and grocery...), bike repair equipment... We can also advise you on how to best organize your itinerant stay.
