Our partners and supporters
Camping Les Volcans has become deeply rooted in its territory, in the heart of Auvergne and the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. Over the years, we have established various local partnerships and collaborate with players who contribute to the discovery and tourism development of Puy-de-Dôme.
We introduce you to some of them on this page and others through
the campsite blog. Feel free to discover their work and their good addresses!
- Travel Guide Auvergne, helps you prepare for your stay. From choosing your accommodations, to on-site activities or the best restaurants to discover Auvergne gastronomy.
Our financial supporters
Since we took over the campsite in 2020, we have carried out many projects to improve the comfort of the campsite and develop an ambitious eco-responsible approach . We have been accompanied and supported in these projects by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the European Union and Ademe. We thank them.
2023-2024: Modernization project for Camping Les volcans
Classed 3 stars, the Les Volcans campsite offers 59 pitches including 6 mobile homes and 8 unusual accommodations (Tipi, Pod, Dome, Lodges, Cocosweet). A work program began in 2022, it includes:
- the construction of a building housing the reception, the grocery store and the snack bar kitchen
- the creation of a large terrace for the snack bar
- the renovation of the interior of the sanitary block and its boiler room
- the acquisition of two new accommodations
- the resurfacing of the parking lot
The modernization of Camping Les Volcans is co-financed by the European Union as part of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe invests in rural areas, and in its 'Development of private tourist accommodation and equipment in rural areas' initiative
Objective: These investments, carried out with an eco-responsible approach, will improve the welcome and comfort of guests staying and hikers passing through on the GR4, GR441 and GR30 and mountain bikers on the GTMC, but also to develop the catering and small grocery offer.
The ADEME and France Relance support the campsite in its eco-friendly approach

Since the resumption of camping in 2020, numerous actions in favor of more sustainable tourism have been put in place: composting, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, local products at the snack bar, LPO refuge… The campsite is also a member of La Via Natura since 2021, a network of small eco-responsible campsites.
With the support of l'Ademe and France Relance l'goal is to continue this approach by going even further on actions of water economy, electricity, waste reduction, use of local products…
The actions supported by l'Ademe and France Relance:
- Training in sustainable cooking and eco-friendly practices in catering,
- reduction of non-food waste at the snack bar,
- Purchase of plaids for the snack bar terrace,
- Installation of a dishwasher to reduce water consumption,
- purchase of 'slate' panels,
- installation of timed mixers with limited water flow in the campsite's sanitary facilities,
- purchase of containers (bag or bins) for each camper to encourage selective sorting and composting,
- installation of LED lighting
The objectives of these actions for the campsite are:
- Limit its consumption of energy and water,
- improve its practices and supply for the catering part,
- Limit the production of food and non-food waste,
- better communication about its actions in favor of sustainable development.
2025: the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region funds 3 energy projects at the campsite
To reduce energy consumption, the Les volcans campsite has invested heavily in 2025. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region contributed to the funding of three major projects:
- Installation of a solar heating solution for the water in the communal sanitary facilities (showers, sinks, washbasins...) to reduce the fuel consumption of the campsite's boiler.
- Installation of photovoltaic panels to produce l'électricité at the campsite, and l'autoconsommer almost entirely.
- Replacement of the swimming pool heat pump with a recent model that is much more energy-efficient.
