An eco-responsible campsite

An eco-responsible campsite for sustainable tourism

Because we are lucky enough to be in an exceptional natural setting, we want to adopt an eco-responsible approach in all areas of the campsite. Our goal is to gradually reduce the impact of camping on its environment. This is also the meaning of our commitment within La Via Natura.

This ecological camping approach towards more sustainable tourism is based on a number of small actions. Some rely solely on the campsite, its facilities, its practices... others call on the participation of campers. A big thank you to everyone who plays the game during their stay!

Some examples of eco-responsible actions

Our actions for sustainable tourism are of various scales, from the most symbolic to the most impactful. Whether they are carried by the campsite or shared with campers.
  • Zero use of chemicals or phytosanitary products for the maintenance of green spaces and choice of eco-labeled cleaning products for the household.
  • Develop local products for snacks: St-Nectaire from the neighbor, Auvergne charcuterie, burger bread from the baker, local potatoes, etc.
  • Capture and use rainwater for watering plants, washing, etc.
  • Removal of disposable items in rentals (end of disposable mattress pads, disposable maintenance kits, etc.) and at the snack bar (installation of reusable pizza boxes, washable takeaway contents, etc.)
  • Be an LPO refuge by implementing the association's recommendations to preserve biodiversity. This is particularly why the campsite hedges are not cut before summer (nesting period) but in the fall.
  • Raising campers' awareness of the surrounding fauna and flora: loan of a nature observation bag, display of birds present around the campsite, etc.
  • Information on hikes, visits, activities, etc. adapted to each camper or family to encourage the discovery of local heritage .
  • Awareness of biodiversity with the organization of visits to the campsite's apiary thanks to the intervention of a local association, Tralalarts Aydat, the installation of observation panels for fauna and flora...
  • Works and changes in practices to limit water and energy consumption (electricity, gas and fuel oil)
  • Promote relationships of trust within the campsite: loan of equipment without deposit (electrical connection, rackets, balls, pétanque balls, etc.), setting up a book box, a games box and a box to share with open access.
  • Prioritize the repair and reuse of equipment , or donation to recycling centers for example.
  • Selective sorting, composting with the provision of biobuckets, recovery of empty gas cartridges, etc.
Other future projects will enrich this approach in the months and years to come. There is still a long way to go and we are also counting on your ideas and suggestions!
