4 road cycling routes around the campsite
These road cycling routes start directly from Camping Les Volcans in Aydat (Puy-de-Dôme), at the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes. The roads of Puy de Dôme are conducive to beautiful bike rides, whether in sporty or tourist discovery mode. We offer you 3 circuits from the campsite (+ a bonus circuit) with varying degrees of difficulty but always with very beautiful views on the road.

Camping for cyclotourism in Auvergne: circuits from Camping Les Volcans
Circuit 1: Gorges de la Monne - Murol - Col de la Croix Morand and Col de Guéry
(77 km). Probably the most beautiful route offered but also the most sporting with 1305 m of elevation gain. The circuit will make you avoid most of the major roads but you will enjoy the most beautiful views of the area with as a bonus the Lake Guéry, the Roches Tuillières and Sanadoire, the Château de Murol...

Circuit 2: Gorges de la Monne - Heights of St-Nectaire - Lake Aydat (52km). A bike route that will make you alternate very different landscapes by taking almost only quiet country roads. You will still have 850m of D+ to climb but on a fairly rolling and quite accessible course.

Circuit 3: Gorges de la Monne - Heights of St-Nectaire - Vernines (48km).,A beautiful loop approaching circuit 2 but bypassing the lake of Aydat. Slightly shorter, this loop also offers a bit less elevation gain (767m D+) and provides only quiet small roads with beautiful views along the route.

Bonus circuit: Dômes Loop (36km + 4km from the campsite). A marked loop that l'on meets à Aydat, which then takes us next près the lake d'Aydat and on to the beautiful village of Saint-Saturnin and the gorges of the Monne. Apart from a stretch on the departmental road, you will mainly use small quiet roads.
