8 MTB circuits departing from the campsite or Lake Aydat
The chain of the puys is an incredible playground for mountain bike enthusiasts. Several routes are mêmes balisés around the campsite, with départs possible without taking the car. Whether you are vététiste occasional, confirmed athlete or with family, the routes around d’Aydat allow you to compose outings adaptées à your level and the time you have.
It is well sûr possible to rent a VTT près from the campsite, with or without electric assistance.
Here are the 8 marked mountain bike trails starting from the campsite or nearby :
- Aydat - Pessade, 27.5 km, marking 2 red (starting from the campsite)
- La Garandie, 4.6 km, marking 10 green (starting from the campsite)
- La Garandie - Les Puys, 10.9 km, marking 6 blue (starting from the campsite)
- La Garandie - Charmont, 13.1 km, marking 5 red (starting from the campsite)
- Aydat - La Cassière, 10.5 km, marking 7 blue
- Aydat - Pierre longue, 11 km, marking 9 blue
- Aydat - Montlosier, 21 km, trail 8 red
- Aydat from the Monne to the Serre, 33.2 km, trail 11 black

There are several possible variations to shorten or lengthen these routes easily. For the routes departing from Lake Aydat, it is possible to reach them directly by mountain bike from the campsite or by car.
A multitude of other mountain bike routes are possible (but not marked), here are some examples available online:
- 20km loop around the puyss (Vichatel, Charmont, Rodde...), departing from the campsite (route proposed by a camper, whom we thank!)
- Route "Around Aydat", 32 km, departing from the campsite
- Circuit "La Ronde des lacs 2014", 45 km, departure from the campsite
- Circuit "La ronde des lacs 2009", 25 km (+ 2 km if departure from the campsite), very accessible as little elevation.
- Circuit "A travers les puys", 32 km (+ 2 km if departure from the campsite), quite accessible with discovery of many puys.

With so many marked trails and possible variations, the Aydat area is an ideal destination for mountain biking during your vacation, without constraints and without always having to take the car. Whether it's for a short outing from the campsite, a sporting loop in the volcanoes or a gentler family ride, everyone can find a route adapted to their level and desires.

Rent a mountain bike with or without electric assistance in Aydat
Our partner La Roue Verte offers mountain bikes for rent near the lake at Aydat. With or without electric assistance they will allow you to enjoy our trails whatever your level and physical condition! Louis will give you great advice on the trails to take depending on your expectations. It is also possible to rent a GPS from him with pre‑recorded routes.
For families, the rental of baby carrier or bike trailer is possible, as well as bikes for children.
