8 MTB circuits departing from the campsite or Lake Aydat
The chain of puys is an incredible playground for mountain biking enthusiasts. Several circuits are even marked around the campsite, with possible departures without taking the car. Whether you're an occasional mountain biker, a confirmed athlete or with family, the circuits around Aydat allow you to compose outings adapted to your level and the time you have available.
It is of course possible to rent a mountain bike near the campsite, with or without electric assistance.
There are several possible variants to shorten or lengthen easily these circuits. For circuits departing from Lac d'Aydat, it is possible to join them directly by MTB from the campsite or by car.
Many other MTB circuits are possible (but not marked), here are a few examples available online:
- 20km loop around the puyss (Vichatel, Charmont, Rodde...), starting from the campsite (circuit proposed by a camper, thanks to them!)
- "Around Aydat" circuit, 32 km, starting from the campsite
- "The Round of the Lakes 2014" circuit, 45 km, starting from the campsite
- "The round of the lakes 2009" circuit, 25 km (+ 2 km if starting from the campsite), very accessible due to little elevation gain.
- "Through the puys" circuit, 32 km (+ 2 km if starting from the campsite), fairly accessible with the discovery of many puys.

With so many marked trails and possible variations, the Aydat area is an ideal destination for mountain biking during your vacation, without constraints and without always having to take the car. Whether it's for a short outing from the campsite, a sporting loop in the volcanoes or a gentler family ride, everyone can find a route adapted to their level and desires.
