Where to visit a farm and watch cheese making?

At the heart of Auvergne and the famous AOP Saint-Nectaire, Fourme d'Ambert and Bleu d'Auvergne, go and meet the animals and local producers! Children and adults will be able to attend the milking, discover the cheese making and leave with delicious regional specialties. Here are our best addresses within 30 minutes of the campsite to live this unique family experience.
- The Clos Farm, at 10 minutes from the campsite, offers farm visits on Thursday or Friday in July and August (by reservation the rest of the year). You will meet the great farm team, their dairy cows and discover the making of St-Nectaire at the farm!

Site of the Clos Farm, at Chabanne. - The Gaec Farm of the 'Bird, à 25 minutes from the campsite, is fully dedicated to visiting and to meeting the animals. Open daily from 9h à 12h and from 14h à 19h. You will be on your own with information panels that will guide you among the calves, the milking of the cows (in late afternoon), the pigs, the sheep and the chickens !
Children will be delighted to be able to touch lively piglets or curious sheep. Depending on the visit time, it is also possible to attend the making of St-Nectaire or yogurts. St-Nectaire, farm yogurts, sausages, ham... for sale on site.
Site of the Gaec Farm of the 'Bird, in Chambon-sur-Lac. - The Lambre Farm, à 15 minutes from the campsite, offers visits from Monday to Saturday à 5pm with a presentation of the operation, a preview of milking and the possibility to attend the making of Saint-Nectaire. A shop and tasting area awaits you on site with Saint-Nectaire and regional products.
