The capital of Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand, is only 20 minutes from the campsite. Why not take advantage of it to spend a day discovering the historic center, Michelin Adventure, Montferrand... ? Here are some ideas to organize your day in Clermont.

Spending a day in Clermont-Ferrand can be a good option, especially on bad weather days. You will gain about 6 degrees compared to the campsite. Conversely, visiting the city is not recommended on very hot days...
Here are some suggestions for visits and activities in Clermont-Ferrand :
- Visit the historic center, between Place de la Victoire, the cathedral (no, it's not a hall, it's the natural color of the lava stone!), Place de Jaude and its statue of Vercingetorix, the Basilica of Notre-Dame du Port... The neighborhood is not large but it has a lot of charm! You can visit on your own or take a guided tour organized by our tourist office or thanks to one of the free guided tours
- A city game in the streets of old Clermont, with the Arcanes de la Cité. A great way to discover the secret history of Clermont-Ferrand while having fun, on the model of an escape game, but outdoors! We loved it +++ when we discovered Clermont on our arrival in the region.
- Visit the Michelin Adventure. A very pleasant surprise for us, even for children! The museum is suitable for children from 4-5 years old, thanks in particular to the investigation booklets to be done throughout the visit. The museum combines the history of the company with world history, from tires (obviously!), to trains and planes, through Michelin's role in mapping our roads, signage... Fascinating. You can easily spend between 2 and 3 hours here. Practical information
- Rugby lovers can dive into the history of ASM by visiting the ASM Experience museum located in the Marcel Michelin stadium. Possibility to visit the museum and/or the Michelin stadium. And if the calendar coincides, why not attend a meeting of the yellow and blue ? Memories guaranteed !
- Visit the historic city of Montferrand. Half-timbered houses, Gothic and Renaissance mansions, fountains, clock tower... You will dive into a medieval and exotic universe ! A little heart for most visitors. Proposed tour available at the tourist office.
