The campsite becomes an LPO Refuge!
Florian Meyer • 27 March 2021
This is a new step in our eco-responsible approach: the campsite has officially become a Refuge of the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO). We want to go further in our actions in favor of biodiversity and raise awareness among campers passing through the volcanoes!

They represent the most visible part of this commitment for the campsite: Nesting boxes have started to be installed in the trees of the park!
We have chosen to install the first ones away from the campsites in order to avoid any inconvenience to campers from this neighborhood while still enjoying the song of the birds.
We also make sure to provide food for the birds present during the winter and water, especially when everything is covered in snow. Another consideration for the protection of birds: we don't prune the hedges in the spring, but in the autumn to avoid disturbing them during the nesting period!
But becoming an LPO Refuge invites us to go further in protecting biodiversity. This is why we are committed, for example, to not using chemicals for the maintenance of the park of the campsite (which we already did) or to encourage the installation of wildlife and wild flora, in particular through reasoned mowing or the future installation of a beehive near the campsite.
All these actions are for us the first steps that call for others as the seasons go by! To be continued...
